You can host ANEURISM IV from the game or run a dedicated server on Linux. These guides cover community hosting in version 20-preview1.
Choose how to host
| Task | Guide |
|---|---|
| Play a session with friends | Hosting from the game |
| Keep a server running when you're not playing | Dedicated servers |
| Set the map, password, player limit, or server rules | Server configuration |
| Change rewards, timers, or player attributes | Gameplay settings |
| Give someone admin access or manage bans | Server administration |
| Back up a world or update the server | Backups and updates |
| Fix a failed launch or connection | Troubleshooting |
Community servers use Steam Relay. Players join through Steam, so you don't need to forward a gameplay port or give anyone your server's IP address. The server and its players need internet access to Steam and Nexus, Vellocet's account and moderation service.
You choose your server's staff and local bans. Nexus bans also apply, but a Nexus staff rank doesn't grant admin access to your community server.
